You can discover Amsterdam with the I amsterdam Card. The Card offers you the following:
- Free entrance to almost all the museums
- Free access
- Free canal boat trip
- 50% discount on car parking
- 25% discount on attractions, restaurants and concerts
Some of the museums may charge a supplement for special exhibitions. The I amsterdam Card should not be purchased for children under the age of 12 When you purchase the I amsterdam Card, you will receivea pocket guide which contains your I amsterdam smartcard and a public transport ticket.

In the pocket guide you will find an electronic smartcard that will be activated when handed over at the entrance desk upon first visit to any of the participating locations that are included with free entrance. The smartcard will be read by a reader. These locations are marked in the pocket guide. Once activated your smartcard is valid for 24, 48 or 72 hours. You can visit the locations once. Please notice that during special exhibitions in the museums there might be a small surcharge at the entrance.

The public transport ticket

With the public transport ticket you can use busses, trams and underground of the transport company GVB ; these cover the complete city of Amsterdam. After first check in you public transport ticket stays valid for 24, 48 or 72 hours. Please note that you need to check in and check out everytime you enter or leave a bus , tram or metro. This ticket is not valid on trains run by the Nederlandse Spoorwegen. To travel to and from the airport you need to purchase a separate train or bus shuttle ticket.

With the voucher in the booklet you can park for 50% discount at 4 P+R Amsterdam for a maximum of 96 hours (one voucher per car). Please find the locations in the pocketguide.

The discount offers and the free snacks can be obtained by handing in the voucher that you find in the last part of the guide & show your smartcard, please mention before ordering / entering that you would like to use the I amsterdam Card discount. The offer can not be combined with other offers and is valid for 1 person. The discount vouchers do not have to be used within the validity of your smartcard they are valid till December 31, 2009.
The free snack vouchers can only be handed in during the validity of your smartcard in 2009. Please show your card and hand in the discount voucher upon ordering.

You can purchase the I amsterdam card by ordering it from us, we will have your card ready on arrival, or buy them at the following locations:
- Arriving by airplane on Schiphol Airport
- Arrival Hall 2 : Holland Tourist Information
- Arriving by train at Central Station
